Florala High School junior Ellie Odom attended the Alabama HOBY Youth Leadership Seminar from Friday, May 24, through Sunday, May 26, at Troy University.
HOBY was founded by Hugh O’Brian in 1958 as a nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire a global community of youth and volunteers dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation. More than 10,000 students participate in annual HOBY programs throughout the United States, which serve local and international high school students.
Its mission is to inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation.
HOBY provides students the opportunity to participate in unique leadership training, service-learning, and motivation-building experiences, beginning a lifelong dedication to improving the lives of others. Its core values include volunteerism, integrity, excellence, diversity, and community partnership.
Ellie is the daughter of Daniel and Alisha Odom with two siblings: Callie and Declan.
