A Summer Fun Fest outdoor celebration is being planned that organizers said is aimed at bringing the community together as well as supporting local artists and craftspeople on Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cypress Landing RV Park on Gantt Lake.
“We celebrate everything in the South,” said Sherry Prevett, the host for Summer Fun Fest, said. “Kick off your summer and join us as we celebrate Summer Fun Fest. “It’s a free community event geared toward bringing the community together. It will be family-oriented and kid-friendly.”
There is no admission or parking fees for the event.
“The Summer Fun Fest will provide the opportunity to take a break from your everyday routine and spend time with family and friends,” Prevett said.
The festival will include a diverse group of local artists and craftspeople, offering a wide array of handmade crafts, artwork, and more. Attendees can browse and shop among the unique pieces that will be available. Among the participants are: Annie’s Attic, Pepper Patch Crafts, Cottage Delights, The Graham Farm, Khollen’s Woodwork, Life Crafts, Wanda’s Sensational Smell Goods, AB Creations, Gallery 334, Avon, Soul on Fire Picture Works, artist Rik Long, Funky Bohemian, and more.
Live music will be performed by Randall Cauthern and Beth Cooper.
The Summer Fun Fest will also include a Classic Car Expo and children’s activities will include a bouncy house provided by Jumping Maniacs, Lily Pad will have a petting zoo, and there will be face painting by Lee.
Food and drink offerings will be provided by Jennifer’s Food to Go food truck, Lollilu’s Lemonade, Dixieland Kettle Corn, and Gina’s Fresh Cooked Pork Rinds.
Gantt Fire & Rescue will bring a fire truck for kids to explore as well as safety information. PEIR, Angel of Hope United Health Veteran’s Support Group, Lake Jackson Trail masters, and others will be available with information and engage in conversation, adding an educational aspect to the festival.
“There’s something for everyone at Summer Fun Fest. Mark your calendar and join us June 8 at Cypress Landing RV Park,” Prevett said.
