Stephen F. Kralick Jr., 78, beloved son of Stephen F. Sr (deceased) and Madeleine Hulock Kralick (deceased) unexpectedly passed away on June 23, 2023.
Steve was a longtime Dozier resident as well as an active Crimson Tide football fan and member of the University of Alabama Alumni Association. Steve was born and educated in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and held degrees from both Moravian University and Lehigh University in Bethlehem. Steve was a Liberty High School graduate and spent his teaching career at Freedom High School, where he was the athletic director.
An accomplished sailor and fisherman, he spent many years sailing his boat “Dreamer” from New Jersey to the US Virgin Islands and publishing poetry, travel guides and stories “seeking the satisfaction and understanding of life.” He published four novels: “In the Shade of the Caribbean”, “A Fisherman’s Goodbye”, “A Fisherman’s Goodbye-Part II”, “Here, There, and Everywhere.”
Steve designed surfboards and enjoyed racing Formula cars in his youth; he was also a licensed ham radio operator for over 50 years. Steve is survived by his constant companion Lucky VII and his five cousins and their families who admired and loved him very much.
There will be a Mass of Remembrance for friends to celebrate his life at Christ the King Catholic Church, 508 Stanford Road, Andalusia on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m.
Internment will be at the convenience of the family at Holy Savior Cemetery in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
