The Covington County Board of Education approved the system’s 2024 fiscal year budget after holding two public meetings.

The budget was approved following the second public hearing held Tuesday, Sept. 5. The budget reflects total revenues and expenditures of approximately $41.9 million.

Of the funds budgeted, 63 percent is for instructional and instructional support services; 9 percent for operation and maintenance; 13 percent for auxiliary services; 5 percent for general administrative services; and 10 percent for capital projects, debt service and other expenditures.

The system’s budget represents a total of 428 employees. The ’24 fiscal year begins Oct. 1, 2023 and ends Sept. 30, 2024.
