Andalusia had a long road trip tonight in region play but came home happy and made several big plays on the way to a 50-0 win at Bullock County.
The top-ranked Bulldogs remained undefeated on the season and improved to 4-0 overall, 2-0 in 4A Region 2. The Hornets saw their record dip to 1-3 and 0-2 in region play.
Andalusia struck first blood 35 seconds into the game when Jack Lathrop threw a 66-yard touchdown pass to Parker Adams. Cobb Stewart added the PAT for a 7-0 lead before Tristin Pitts cashed in a 43-yard fumble for a touchdown with 3:44 left in the opening quarter. Bullock County had a bad snap on a punt and punted the ball out of the end zone for a safety. The lead grew to 22-0 with 1:07 left in the half. Jordyn Skanes scored on a 7-yard touchdown run, but the two-point conversion was unsuccessful.
The Bulldogs exploded in the third with three more touchdowns and kept the Hornets off the board. Lathrop started the scoring spree with a 50-yard touchdown pass to Skanes. Stewart converted the PAT for a 29-0 lead with 8:48 to go in the quarter. Just over a minute and a half later, Lathrop connected with Tyler Sigers from 41 yards out.
