Tommie Lee Bolling, age 66, of Andalusia passed away unexpectedly on August 21, 2023, at his residence.
The family had a time of receiving friends on Thursday, August 24, 5 to 7 p.m., at Keahey Funeral Home. Cremation followed.
Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Melinda Taylor Bolling; children, Tony Moore (Tifani), Brandy Forehand (Michael), and Salena Locklier (Tom), all of Andalusia; one brother, John Walker of Andalusia; sisters-in-law, Joyce Chance of Andalusia; Trish Pichardo of Boca Raton, Florida; Rhonda Bullion of Navarre Beach, Florida; the mother of his children, Sarah Moore; grandchildren, Kelse Moore, Dalton Moore, Grayson Moore, Samantha Ward (Colton), Brittany Gottlieb (Alec), Joshwa Forehand (Sasha), Kayleigh Forehand, Graysin Baine, and Aiden Baine; great-grandchildren, Aiden Shirley, Legend Moore, Emma Ward, Brayden Ward, Clayton Gottlieb, Emiry Forehand, and M.J. Forehand; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A lifelong resident of Covington County, Tommie graduated from Andalusia High School. When in high school he was a member of the ROTC and prided himself in being the ROTC Commander. Throughout his working years, he was a highly skilled and dependable worker. He was self-taught and became a master mechanic. He worked with Boan Construction, S & D Garage, and on the Oil Rigs. After his retirement, he became one of the finest “shade tree” mechanics anywhere around. Even after his health prevented him from “shade tree” mechanic work, he would go outside and help anyone who came up with a vehicle problem. He loved hunting and spent a lot of happy times hunting by himself and with friends. He greatly loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and they were the joy of his life. He would give anyone the “shirt off his back,” but he might “raise ‘cane” while doing it! He jokingly referred to himself “as a lady’s man!,” but everyone knew his wife Melinda was the “love of his life!”
He was preceded in life by his son, Christopher “Bull” Bolling; his parents, Johnny Bolling Jr. and Hattie Brooks Walker Bolling; siblings, Larry Sanford Bolling, Eddie Bolling, Gathrol Ray Bolling, Guy Bolling, Annie Kelley, Jo Ann Adams, Sue Davis, and Janice Kelley.
