Nineteen to participate in Distinguished Young Women event

Nineteen are set to participate in the 2024 Covington County Distinguished Young Woman Program on Saturday, July 15, at LBW Community College Dixon Center, with the theme of “Defining Moments.”
This year’s program will award $22,500 in cash tuition scholarships.
The participants will be organized into two groups. At 2 p.m., “Group A” will perform their talent while “Group B” performs fitness and self expression. Then, at 6 p.m., the groups will switch with Group A performing fitness and expression while Group B performs talent. Both shows will include an opening number and the “Little Sisters” portion of the program. The 2 p.m. progam will include a performance by the “Distinguished Darlings.”
At the conclusion of the 6 p.m. program, awards will be presented, including the announcement of the 2024 Distinguished Young Woman of Covington County.
Tickets for the event are $15 per show and may be purchased from a participant or at the door. Doors will open one hour prior to each show. There are no reserved seats.
Little Sisters, which is comprised of rising juniors, are: Caroline Meyerhoff, Anna Beth Jackson, Alyson Richburg, Brittan Bennett, Lily Jo Elmore, Annie Park, Maecy Starnes, Kinsley Stovall, Milasia Jones, Graycie Sansom, Marli Rolling, Isabella Grissett, Maggie Ruth Wiggins, Audrey Ward, Makenna Harrelson, Carnley Beth Johnson, Ada Blackstock, Olivia Cravey, Sadie Carpenter, Lexi Stallworth, Klyasia Woods, Sarah Katherine Reese, Saranel Brundidge, Shambresha Woods, Victoria Walker, and Zoey Phillips.
Distinguished Darlings are: Aida Bryan, Alice Rogers, Brylee Williams, Cadie McClung, Caroline Bumpers, Caroline Griffin, Eden Popwell, Ella Wiggins, Ella-Kate Worley, Emalynn Phillips, Joy Marie Amis, Karrington Weaver, Kinlee Phillips, Lexie Kervin, Maxwell Bilger, Mila Bay Newton, Pearson King, and Raylee Tidwell.
Following are the participants in the 2024 Distinguished Young Woman Program.
Kylie Waters: A student at Opp High School, Waters will perform a baton routine to “A Little Pary Never Killed Nobody” from “The Great Gatsby.”
Cape Merrell: A student at Andalusia High School, Merrell will perform the comedic song, “100 Easy Ways to Lose a Man” form “Wonderful Town.”
Ainsley Ricks: A student at Andalusia High School, Ricks will perform a modern dance to “Wildfire” by SYML.
Caroline Reeves: A student at Andalusia High School, Reeves will perform a flag routine to “I’m Alright” from “Caddyshack.”
Gracie Grissom: A student at Andalusia High School, Grissom will perform a jazz dance to “Spice Up Your Life” by The Spice Girls.
Aubrey Pittman: A student at Straughn High School, Pittman will perform the song “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus.
Madison Castleberry: A student at Andalusia High School, Castleberry with perform a rifle routine to “Ain’t No Other Man” by Christina Aguilera.
Sam Lawson: A student at Andalusia High School, Lawson will perform a modern dance to “Hold My Hand” by Lady Gaga.
Alyssa Richardson: A student at Straughn High School, Richardson will perform a speed painting to “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” by the Charlie Daniels Band.
Katie Kennedy: A student at Andalusia High School, Kennedy will perform a beam routine to “Never Enough” from “The Greatest Showman.”
Ivy Rogers: A student at Andalusia High School, Rogers will perform a jazz en pointe dance to “Last Dance” by Donna Summer.
Casey Bulger: A student at Andalusia High School, Bulger will perform a knife routine to “Fireball” by Pitbull.
Madison Webb: A student at Andalusia High School, Webb will perform a rifle routine to “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor.
Isabella Burgess: A student at Opp High School, Burgess will perform a contemporary dance to “Mercury” by Sleeping At Last.
Anna Martin: A student at Andalusia High School, Martin will perform a musical kata to “Showstopper” by TobyMac.
Liz Ann Jackson: A student at Opp High School, Jackson will perform a vocal of “One Moment In Time” by Whitney Houston.
Ava Tomberlin: A student at Andalusia High School, Tomberlin will perform a baton routine to “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John.
Emmy Mixson: A student at Andalusia High School, Mixson will perform a flag routine to “Putting On the Ritz” by Irving Berlin.
Summer Killough: A student at Straughn High School, Killough will perform speed painting to “God’s Not Dead” by the Newsboys.
