Mr. and Mrs. Roger Alan Powell are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Lauren McDavid Powell, of Birmingham, to Mr. John Robert Harris IV, also of Birmingham, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Robert Harris III of Tuscaloosa.

Miss Powell is the granddaughter of Mr. Robert Lewis Powell Sr. and the late Mrs. Powell of Greenville, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Keltys Powell of Andalusia. She is a graduate of Andalusia High School and the University of Alabama with a B.A. in Communications and Advertising. She is employed as a Senior Marketing Communications Specialist and Lead Project Coordinator with McGriff Insurance Services, LLC in Birmingham.

Mr. Harris is the grandson of Mr. James Otis Alexander of Charlotte, North Carolina and the late Mrs. Jane DeYoung Alexander of Kennesaw, Georgia, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Robert Harris Jr. of Decatur. He is a graduate of Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa and the University of Alabama where he received a B.S. in Commerce and Business Administration. He is employed as a Logistics Coordinator with B. L. Harbert International, LLC of Birmingham and is completing an MBA with the University of North Alabama.

The wedding will be an event of June 10, 2023 at Christ Episcopal Church in Tuscaloosa.
