The Covington County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect on drug-related charges in Andalusia Wednesday night.
Trava Keon Chambers, 29, was arrested and booked into the Covington County Jail following the arrest and is facing multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of marijuana, drug trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia, a firearms violation, and a bond violation.
According to CCSO officials, deputies responded to a Scherf Drive residence in Andalusia Wednesday night after receiving information of Chambers’ location. He was already wanted for multiple felony probation revocation warrants.
Upon arrival at the residence, deputies recovered what officials described as a “very large amount of ecstasy, marijuana, and cocaine.” Several firearms were also recovered along with a large amount of currency.
Chambers’ probation revocation warrants were executed as well.
Sheriff Blake Turman said the drugs seized bring attention to how drugs are often packaged in a way that appeals to children.
“This stuff is not candy and should be kept away from children. If you see anything like this, please report it,” Turman said.
Chambers was booked into the Covington County Jail and bond was set at $306,000.
