Mrs. Mary Smith Roberson of Reynolds, Georgia, passed away on March 25, 2023, at The Lodge in Warner Robins, Georgia.
Mary was born May 16, 1930, in Covington County, Alabama to the late Mary Jane Etheridge Smith and Ernest Sylvester Smith and was preceded in death by her husband, William Dennon Roberson, in 1999. Her brothers Wilson Smith, Aubrey Smith, George Smith, and Morgan Smith and sisters Vera Smith, Aminitus Smith Merrill, Zerlene Smith Stallings, and Roxie Smith Bozeman also preceded her in death. Mary was retired from Robins AFB and was an active member of Taylor Mill Baptist Church until her health declined. She was affectionally known as “Mema.”
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Gary Thomas Roberson (Kathy) and Dennon Harold Roberson (Martha) both of Reynolds and daughters, Sheryl Roberson Brooks (Johnny) of Ideal and Renee Roberson Lawhorn (Frank) of Reynolds; 10 grandchildren, Brad Roberson (Jamie), Ben Roberson (Mandy), Leiah Brooks (Mike), Corey Roberson (Christy), Michael Lawhorn (Vanessa), Phillip Lawhorn (Ashley), Brooke Moore (Trent), Lindsay Brooks, Heather Nipper (Kevin), Keith Noles; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, March 28, 2 p.m., at Taylor Mill Baptist Church with Rev. Scotty Jones and Rev. Drue Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held immediately following the service at Taylor Mill Baptist Church Annex. The family received friends of the family at Renee and Frank Lawhorn’s, 1360 Tommy Purvis Rd. in Reynolds from noon until 8 p.m. on Monday, March 27.
A special thank you to her extended family at The Lodge for loving and caring for Mama for the last five years.
