We are sad to announce on Dec. 23, 2022, we had to say goodbye to David Glenn Freeman of Dozier, born in Haines City, Florida, on Aug. 25, 1955.
One of the kindest souls on this planet, our dad was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. Early in life, our dad learned the importance of hard work, and he instilled that same work ethic in us. He was always there for his family, whether we needed help with our car, house, or just support in general. He was a man of strong faith, and he taught us the importance of family and hard work. He worked for Russell Athletic of Alex City for many years before leaving and starting his own construction business, in which he even worked tirelessly building their new house up until his passing. He also loved to pick and re-sale items as a hobby; he always found the best deals.
Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his parents, Early Lane Freeman and Gladys Mae Campbell Freeman; his siblings, Early Lane Freeman, Jr., Charlotte Ann Freeman McGuire, Terry Wayne Freeman; grandson, Alec B. Tyndall.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Freeman; brother, Jerry Dale Freeman of Texas; his children, Rodney Freeman of New Site, Alabama, Michelle Sewell (Randy) of Wetumpka, Alabama, Rodney Pittman (Michelle) of Chipley, Florida; grandchildren, Shauna Johnston and Lane Freeman, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 29, 1 p.m., from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Stone Lake Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday. Brother Lee Jordan will officiate the service.
Foreman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to South Alabama Convention Singing Hall, 28470 Central Street, Andalusia, AL 36420.
