Katherine Carlene Wells, 43, of Andalusia, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Nov. 24, 2022.
She is survived by her parents, Michael and Maria Wells of Andalusia; her sister Maria Wells Pezzoli and husband David of Orlando, Florida; her brother John Wells and wife Kelly of Andalusia; and her sister Sarah Wells Maynor and husband Sonny of Andalusia; her nieces and nephews Alena Pezzoli, Marek Pezzoli, Anna Reese Wells, Stella Katherine Wells, Ronan Pezzoli, Donnie Maynor, Jack Wells, and Rosemary Maynor; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Katherine was preceded in death by her grandparents Ashton Sr. and Orene Wells and John and Ria Jane Chiepalich.
Katherine was born in Long Beach, California, on Dec. 9, 1978. She moved with her family to Andalusia in 1987. She graduated from Andalusia High School in 1997 and attended the University of Alabama where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Photography in 2001. Katherine continued her studies at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and completed a degree in Computer Animation. She worked for many years in the Jesus Film Project for Campus Crusade for Christ in Orlando, Florida, and served during two mission trips to South Africa and Cameroon.
She enjoyed reading, playing board and card games, spending time at Lake Martin with friends and family, and exhibiting her musical talent on the piano and the flute. Katherine fulfilled her love of travel and experiencing different cultures through many international trips with her loving parents.
Visitation with Katherine’s family will be held at Foreman Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. Katherine’s Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, 2 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Andalusia with Dr. Ken Jackson officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing. Memorials in Katherine’s memory may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Andalusia or to a memorial scholarship to be set up in Katherine’s honor.
