A Covington County man has been arrested in Geneva and accused of several criminal charges, including child pornography, per the Geneva Police Department.

James Richard Hatcher, 42, was arrested after a warrant was issued by the Covington County Sheriff’s Office for multiple counts of child pornography charges.

According to Geneva Police Department Chief Pepper Mock, the CCSO contacted his department and informed them of Hatcher’s warrants and his possible location.

Chief Mock says GPD officers located Hatcher near Simmons creek, and he attempted to lie about his identity but was taken into custody.

Hatcher was booked into the Geneva County Jail and is facing additional charges of obstruction of justice, possession of marijuana in the first degree, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
