Andalusia High School students London McClure and Emmalee Mixson have received the National Rural and Small Town Award, which is an academic honor from the College Board National Recognition Programs.
Students who may be eligible have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have excelled on the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10, or earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP Exams; and attend school in a rural area or small town.
“We’re thrilled that our students have earned this recognition. We are very proud of them for their achievements in their classrooms and on College Board assessments,” said Principal Ray Wilson. “These programs help students stand out to colleges during admissions.”
McClure is the volleyball team manager and a member of the SGA, National Honor Society, and Anchor Club. She is an AP Scholar with Honor and the daughter of Amanda and Cliff McClure. She plans to attend a four-year university and major in English with the goal of attending law school.
