Andalusia remains unbeaten, throttles Bibb County, 55-18

Andalusia rolled up 505 yards of total offense and earned its sixth straight win on the season with several big plays in a 55-18 rout over Bibb County Friday night.
Trent Taylor coached his 100th game with the Bulldogs and improved to 76-24 in his eighth season leading his alma mater.
Dorian Crittenden got the scoring started with a 55-yard touchdown run. The extra point was no good and left the score 6-0. John Michael Downs tied the score at 6-6 on a 1-yard touchdown run, but the extra point was blocked. Jack Lathrop threw a 64-yard touchdown pass to Kaden Denson. Crittenden added the two-point conversion as Andalusia (6-0) took a 14-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Lathrop began the second quarter with a 57-yard touchdown strike to Connor Dalton and upped the lead to 20-6. Denson sparked the defense with a pick-six, and J’Marion Burnette tacked on the two-point try for a 28-6 lead. Bibb County (3-3) cut the deficit to 28-12 with a 2-yard touchdown run from Colby Collums. Burnette answered the call with a 22-yard touchdown run and closed the first half with a 21-yard touchdown run. Kolya Barton converted the PAT and capped a huge 27-point quarter for a 41-12 halftime lead.
Collums had a 17-yard touchdown run for the only points of the third quarter as the Choctaws drew within 41-18. Burnette opened the fourth quarter with a 13-yard touchdown run as Cobb Stewart gave the Bulldogs a 48-18 lead with the extra point. Noah Curry wrapped up the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run and another successful PAT by Stewart.
Andalusia finished with 325 rushing yards and 180 passing yards in the lopsided win, while Bibb County managed 245 total yards of offense. Lathrop went 7-of-10 passing with two touchdowns. Burnette sparred the strong running attack with 162 yards on 16 carries and three touchdowns. Crittenden added five carries for 94 yards and a score. Denson caught two receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown as Dalton made one reception for 57 yards and a score.
Jacob Sellers paced the defense with six tackles. Joshua Riley, Jaeden Jackson, and Garrett Blackston all followed with five tackles each.
The Bulldogs return home for a region game Friday, Sept. 30 with the Geneva Panthers (2-4, 0-3).
