It is a week of celebrating the present and the past as Andalusia High School holds its homecoming activities for 2022.
This year, AHS will honor the graduating classes of 1963, 1973, 1983, 1993, 2003 and 2013. Andalusia graduates from those years are invited to participate in a variety of activities, including the homecoming parade to be held Friday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m.
The day’s events begin with an Alumni Breakfast at 8 a.m. in the AHS cafeteria, which will be followed by a presentation by Darrell Thomas of the AHS Scholarship Foundation and a homecoming assembly at 9 a.m. in the auditorium. The assembly will include a variety show and pep rally.
Alumni planning to ride in the parade should be in the school’s parking lot by 1:30 p.m. Those wishing to participate in the parade should contact Tina Rogers. Alumni should park in the main high school parking lot and enter the second building, behind the old main school, to go to the cafeteria. Student guides will be available to assist guests.
The activities continue that evening when the 2022 Homecoming Court will be presented along with the crowning of this year’s homecoming queen. The presentation will be done prior to the AHS football game, at 6:30 p.m.
For this year’s homecoming matchup, Andalusia will kick off against region opponent Bullock County at 7 p.m.
