Covington Electric Co-op (CEC) is deeply committed to supporting education.
The co-op offers scholarships each year to deserving high school seniors through the Electric Cooperative Foundation in Montgomery, Ala., which evaluates all applications and awards scholarships to students attending technical colleges and universities. Applicants must be dependents of CEC members to apply. Details about the scholarships are publicized through Alabama Living, the CEC website, social media, and brochures.
CEC offers two $1,000 scholarships (one for a senior heading to college and one for a senior heading to technical college) at each high school served by the co-op.
In addition to these scholarships, there are two $1,000 At-Large scholarships that are awarded to eligible high school seniors attending schools not served by CEC with the same guidelines.
CEC extends its congratulations to the 2022 CEC Scholarship Recipients: Anna Duffy, Andalusia High School; Emily Chen and Logan Fuqua, Pleasant Home School; Anna Flowers and Sydney Holley, Kinston School; Madison Lee, Red Level; Jordan Morrow, Zion Chapel High School; Linsey Hicks, Straughn High School; and Tucker Kilcrease, Brantley School.
CEC is an electric distribution cooperative providing electric service to approximately 23,800 meters in parts of six counties including Covington, Coffee, Dale, Crenshaw, Geneva and Escambia.
