Two county teams still alive as basketball reaches regionals

After eight sub-regional games Monday and Tuesday, two local teams remain in contention for a state championship in the 2022 basketball postseason.
In 1A, Florala’s girls held off Red Level 42-39 Monday. In 3A, Opp’s boys rallied from an early deficit for a 52-49 win Tuesday.
The Lady Wildcats (24-6) and Bobcats (20-6) aim to keep their seasons alive in the Southeast Regional at Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery.
The Alabama High School Athletic Association has set the price of admission at $10 per day. Tickets will not be available at the door and must be purchased through GoFan.
Opp’s boys play Dadeville in the regional semi-finals Thursday, Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
Florala’s girls meet Loachapoka in the regional semi-finals Saturday, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m.
