The Opp Housing Authority will host a special event designed to inspire a new and positive attitude going into the new year.
The two-hour lunch and learn event titled, “Think Positive,” will be held Thursday, Jan. 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Opp Adult Activity Center, 500 N. Brantley Ave.
The guest speakers for the event will be Dr. Earl Suttle, a best-selling author and motivational speaker, as well as special guest, Dr. Arturo Menefee of the University of Alabama. The event is associated with Leadership Success International, LLC of Roswell, Georgia.
“For the past two years, we have existed in a no-man’s land of the pandemic. It has thrown us all out of balance with daily elevated stress levels about the uncertainty of the future. At times it feels like forward motion has been stopped causing us to put our lives on hold.
“We’ve had to take more time to talk to our children, our family members and tend more remotely to our demanding jobs serving more of our clients who are also full of stress and anxiety. 2022 has to be time to pivot and take more control and care for ourselves. It all starts with attitude,” states a description about the event.
To participate in the event, register by contacting Beverly Barber, executive director of the Opp Housing Authority at 334-493-3741, ext. 25, or email to beverly.oha@gmail.com.
Registration is $75 per person and checks should be made out to the Opp Housing Authority.
There is limited seating and early registration is recommended.
