The final region game of the season draws a rivalry as Red Level (2-5, 2-4 1A Region 1) hosts Pleasant Home (1-7, 1-5) Friday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.
The Eagles fell short at Kinston last week, 33-18. The Tigers dropped a tough one to Brantley at home, 46-6.
PHS Head Coach Jeremy Silcox said it was a hard-fought game at Kinston. “Coach (Rudy) Free’s teams are always physical, and this team is no exception. Hats off to them on the win.”
Silcox added that Pleasant Home would face a Red Level team who can make plays in many different ways. “They always play hard and have several really athletic guys,” he said. “I know they will be well-prepared for Friday.”
The Eagles have a really good nucleus of kids, according to Silcox. “At the end of the day, we are building fathers, employees, husbands, and future leaders. These guys will continue to work hard because that is the type of young men they are.”
RLS Head Coach Kenny Skipper could not be reached for comment.
This is the 14th meeting between the two teams, and Red Level has a slight 7-6 edge since 2000. The Tigers have also outscored the Eagles, 318-277.
RLS squeaked by PHS on the road, 8-6, in 2020.
