Albert Harrison Burnette Jr., passed away peacefully on April 29, 2021, after an 18-month battle with lymphoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtice Henderson and Albert Harrison Burnette, Sr., whom he cared for faithfully until their deaths.
Al grew up in Andalusia and graduated from Andalusia High School. In 1970 he earned a degree in interior design at the University of Alabama and began a career with Haverty’s
in Montgomery and later worked as manager of Charlotte Gaston Interiors.
Al learned to play bridge at an early age and enjoyed the game throughout his life. He was a member of the Montgomery Duplicate Bridge Club. Always a dog lover, Al leaves his companion Abby in the loving hands of her newly adoptive owners.
Al proclaimed his Christian faith throughout his life.
He was loved and will be missed by many friends for his genuineness and quick wit.
Friends would like to thank the staff at Montgomery Health and Rehabilitation and Amedisys Hospice for their excellent care.
Graveside services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 at Magnolia Cemetery in Andalusia. Memorials may be made to the Montgomery Humane Society; 1150 Overton Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36110.
