LBW Community College is pleased to announce the hiring of Janie Wiggins as the new women’s volleyball coach. Wiggins is a seasoned coach with over 25 years developing and motivating student-athletes.
Wiggins comes to LBW after serving as Head Volleyball Coach at Enterprise High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education in 1995 and a Master of Science in Physical Education in 1996 from Troy University.
“Coach Wiggins is and has always been garnered as one of the best volleyball coaches in the state,” said LBW President, Dr. Brock Kelley.
“Her career has been nothing but spectacular, and her knowledge will be an asset to LBW and our student-athletes. We are excited to welcome her to the Saints family.”
Wiggins is credited with starting the first volleyball program at Enterprise State Community College in 1995 after completing a Division I volleyball career at Troy University. She also worked as the assistant executive director at the Deep South Volleyball Club, and she served as the head volleyball and softball coach at Kinston High School.
“Her experience with coaching and developing programs will be extremely valuable to our Athletic Department,” said Athletic Director, Steve Helms.
LBW’s new women’s volleyball program, announced earlier this month, is one of 10 volleyball programs in the Alabama Community College Conference. The program is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2021.
