PowerSouth announces organizational changes

To prepare for PowerSouth’s future, plan for retirements, strengthen the organization and fulfill member needs, PowerSouth Energy Cooperative announced today organizational changes and promotions effective Jan. 4, 2021.

Joe Armstrong, currently Director of Engineering, has been named Vice President of Engineering & Operations, where he will continue to oversee T&D Engineering and Construction and Telecommunications, with the added responsibility for T&D Operations.

Armstrong earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Alabama and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Alabama and Florida. A native of Andalusia, Ala., he and his wife, Deb, have three children, Megan, Brandon and Callie.

Jonathan Ellison, currently Manager of Technical Services, has been named Director of T&D Services, where he will continue to oversee the Technical Services department with the added focus on planning, compliance and regulatory functions.

Ellison is a native of Opp, Ala., and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer. He and his wife, Amanda, have one child, Bryson.
