UPDATE: Covington County roads, bridges considered impassable

The Covington County Emergency Management Agency and County Engineer’s Office have announced that all county roads, bridges should be considered impassable effective today at 1 p.m. and continuing until further notice
The public is advised that when roads and bridges become “impassable” all travel should be suspended or delayed. Only emergency vehicles should travel on county roads and bridges until further notice.
Earlier today, the CCEMA announced a travel advisory for roads throughout the county and several roads were deemed impassable, including:
• Covington County Road 4. from Hwy. 137 to Hwy. 55
• One Bridge Road in Lockhart
• County Road 2 in Wing
The EMA advises anyone traveling on any county roads in Covington County to use extreme caution.
