CLAIRE GUNTER BULGER

Mrs. Claire Gunter Bulger of Andalusia passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 in the Andalusia Hospital. She was 83.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Keahey Chapel. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30 p.m., until time of services. Interment will follow in Adellum Baptist Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Dreading, Lane Foster, Timothy Bulger, Chase Gunter, Josh Narwid, and Gabe Williamson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Left to cherish her memory, sons, David Dreading (Melanie) of Andalusia; Ricky Dreading (Jaunice) of Andalusia; Benji Gunter (Lisa) of Andalusia, and Keith Gunter (Amanda) of Andalusia; step children, Linda Black (Jimmy) of Enterprise, Diane Reeves (Ronnie) of Andalusia, Lorainne Sutton (Gary Wayne) of Andalusia, Buddy Gunter of Andalusia; grandchildren, Misty Williamson, Tara Bulger, Brandon Dreading, Suzanne Foster, Faith Thompson, Ariel Narwid, Chase Gunter and Hope Gunter; great grandchildren, Christian Williams, Gabriel Williamson, Piper Bulger, Jasper Narwid, Lane Foster, Ansley Foster and Payton Foster and numerous step grandchildren; great great-grandchildren, Sawyer Williams and Ella Gray Foster; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Gillis and Mollie McGowin Gillis; by husbands, Ford Bulger and B.O. Gunter; two sisters, Edna Cook and Ruby Barden, three brothers, John Will Gillis, Eugene “Gene” Gillis and Luther “Luke” Gillis; step daughter, Sandra Beagles.

A 1954 graduate of Pleasant Home High School, she also was a retired school bus driver from the Pleasant Home School system. A faithful member of Red Oak Baptist Church, she was a choir member, Sunday School director and active member of a local gospel quartet. After retirement, she enjoyed playing Dominoes with anyone willing to play with her; while at Andalusia Manor, she pretty well maintained the title of “Domino Champion”.

RONALD KNIGHT (“R.K”) PRICE

Ronald Knight (“R.K.”) Price was born in Alachua, FL on November 23, 1933.  He passed away in Mobile, AL on Sept. 8, 2020 and will be buried there.  He grew up in Live Oak, FL and spent 3 years in the US Navy.  He worked for Southern Bell and AT&T before he retired.  He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rose Marie Price.

They started their life together in Jacksonville, FL and lived their final years in Andalusia, AL.  His children are Steve Price (Janis), Kathy Grosse, David Price (Jewel), Danny Price (Sandi), Philip Price (Amy), Tony Price.  His grandchildren are Walker Price, Stuart Grosse, Erin Pettigrew, Allison Clausen, Jessica Winners, Loyd Price, Christopher Price, and Amanda Price.  His great-grandchildren are Hannah Pettigrew, David Pettigrew, Micah Pettigrew, and Eve Clausen.  He is also survived by his sister Audrey (Glen) Swicegood.  His sister, Yvonne Greek, preceded him in death.

Ronald and Rose Marie lived in several places over their years together and they were always active members of a local Baptist church.  Ronald enjoyed singing, yard work, and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia.  Ronald worked hard to provide for his large family and he will be dearly missed.

A graveside service will be held in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Saturday, September 12 at 10 AM.

JANIS ANNETTE ADAMS JOHNS

Mrs. Janis Annette Adams Johns, age 84, of Opp, Alabama passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Johns is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Janis Johns Mock & David; sons & special friends, Dwight Dillard & Jane Hogg and Perry Dillard & Katee Roberts; sister & brother-in-law, Cynthia Hataway & Greg; sister, Patricia Morris; grandchildren, Derek Dillard & Amanda, Shane Dillard & Roxanne, Michael Dillard & Angie, Stacie Blair & Nick, Jessica Jackson & Lee, Everett Mock and Ashley Armstead & Chance; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Preston Johns and George Hubert Dillard; daughter-in-law, Janet Dillard; and parents, Ila Ruth Taylor Adams and Jacob David Adams.

Funeral services for Mrs. Annette Johns will be held at 11 am Monday, September 14, 2020 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Patrick Cemetery (family cemetery located on Highway 331 south of Opp). Bro. Gary Miller and Bro. Larry Jackson will be officiating with eulogy given by son, Dwight Dillard. Serving as pallbearers will be Derek Dillard, Shane Dillard, Everett Mock, Chance Armstead, Lee Jackson and Lane Jackson. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6 until 8 at Wyatt Funeral Home.

The family will be receiving friends at Mrs. Johns home, 16901 US Hwy 331 S., Opp, Alabama 36467.
