Mr. Roy Roderick Sylvester, age 73, passed away Mon., April 27, 2020.

He was born on March 6, 1947.

His parents were Roy and Enid Collins Sylvester.

Mr. Sylvester was a resident of Crestview, Fla., after moving from DeFuniak Springs. He was a Veteran of the Armed Forces, serving his country in the United States Navy. He worked as a Law Enforcement Officer for over forty years before retiring. He worked with the Alabama Beverage Control, Walton County Sheriff’s Department and the Covington County Sheriff’s Department. He was an avid Alabama Football fan. He enjoyed reading and golfing. He enjoyed taking care of animals and was a very good “Daddy”.

Mr. Sylvester was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Mr. Sylvester is survived by his sons, Rod Sylvester and wife Joy of Andalusia, Alabama, Josh Ervin and wife Lauren of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, and Bryan Sylvester and wife Hannah of Bonifay, Florida; and two grandchildren, Tripton Ervin and Tatum Ervin.

Funeral services will be held at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Richard Murray, Sr. officiating.
