Locals who travel Hwy. 52 in Opp should be aware that a resurfacing project is slated to begin on Thursday.

Alabama Department of Transportation spokesperson Brantley Kirk said Tuesday that ALDOT awarded the project to Wiregrass Construction Company Inc., of Dothan, at the cost of $4,470,591.36.

Kirk said the project is projected to be completed in the fall.
