A new building is now complete for retail and office space at the end of East Three Notch Street in Andalusia.
Cindy McIntyre bought the property four years ago with a vision to put something on the property. Last October, construction began on the office and retail space.
“My husband began clearing the property with the hopes of putting something there,” McIntyre said. “Last October we started construction and now it is complete. There is one renter in there right now, who approached me when construction began.”
Currently, there are two spaces available in the building.
“I think it is a great opportunity to help clean up that end of East Three Notch Street,” McIntyre said. “Each space is 800 square feet and they are $800 a month. It is extremely energy efficiently build. It is also completely new, as opposed to a lot of the buildings in our city, which are older buildings. I work in an older building now. So, I know the challenges of having to work in an older building.”
One thing that McIntyre takes pride in is that every bit of the construction process was local.
“One of the things I take pride in is that every single piece of material and all the labor that went into that building was locally purchased,” McIntyre said. “After living in a smaller town in Ft. Walton/Destin area and having a family that had a local business we took pride in builders and individuals coming in and buying locally.”
McIntyre said there is plenty of parking available, as well as the opportunity to build extra units onto the building in the future.
