An Andalusia man has been charged with attempted murder in a shooting that occurred early Wednesday evening.
Andalusia Police Chief Paul Hudson said officers responded to a report of a shooting on Oak Street at approximately 5:50 p.m. When they arrived, they found a black male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Andalusia Health by Advanced EMS, and later transferred to a larger hospital. At the time he was transferred, his condition was stable.
Hudson said investigators responded to the scene and identified a suspect. Derrick Antwan Dorsey, 23, has been charged with attempted murder and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing, Hudson said.
