A local man pleaded guilty to domestic violence II and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
William David Carroll, 52, stood before Circuit Judge Lex Short this week to plea.
According to a press release from District Attorney Walt Merrell’s office, a victim reported to Florala Police Department that Carroll had called her derogatory names and then struck her with a baseball bat.
Carroll’s criminal history includes convictions for violent crimes and drug crimes, Merrell said.
“Thank you to Florala Police Department for their diligence in finding justice for the victim,” Merrell said.
