This weekend the Opp Downtown Redevelopment Authority will hold its first-ever Christmas Tour of Homes.

The event will begin at the historic L&N Depot on Main Street and will include the following homes:

• Rick Clifton, 110 Port Moore Drive;

• Ted and Linda Roquemore, 195 Woodfern Drive;

• Jared and Joanna Whigham, 29518 U.S. Hwy. 84;

• End at Wheelhouse Restaurant, 105 E. Hart Avenue;

Frances Spurlin of the DRA said that this is the first time the DRA has sponsored the tour of homes.

She said this is just another event the organization is sponsoring to promote Opp.

“We are beginning at the L&N Depot,” she said. “And we will end at the Wheelhouse Restaurant for refreshments.”

Spurlin said they have had a lot of people excited about the tour of homes and they have presold some tickets.

Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased at the Depot the day of the tour.

The tour is set for Dec. 8 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Tickets may also be purchased today at Young’s Florist, Southern Style, CCB Community Bank and Southern Independent Bank.
