Jermaine Funnymaine Johnson, the man responsible for several viral videos about SEC football will be in Andalusia this week performing a stand up routine thanks to the Covington County Bama Club.
Rob Foreman with the club said Johnson has been a hot ticket performer for several alumni chapters across the nation.
“We have had several positive remarks from other chapters that had him perform,” Foreman said. “It seems like he is a crowd favorite every where he goes.”
In years past, Foreman said they have had people like Chris Stewart, the sports radio personality for the Crimson Tide.
“We had him last year and people enjoyed it,” Foreman said. “But he hadmsome health issues this year and we weren’t able to bring him back.”
Foreman said the thing he is excited for the most about the event is getting the community to come to the event.
“A lot of people know Jermaine from his weekly videos talking about SEC football,” Foreman said. “This year we have a bigger venue and we are hoping that several people from the community come. We hope to give a larger demographic of people by bringing in Jermaine, because it’s not just about the University of Alabama. He makes jokes about all SEC teams. You don’t have to be a fan of Alabama to come to the show. All fans are welcome or even if you just want to come see a funny comedic routine.”
Johnson currently has 78.9 thousand subscribers on YouTube and 579,758 followers on Facebook.
The show is scheduled for this Thursday., Nov. 7, at the LBW Dixon Center of Performing Arts. Tickets are $20 and all proceeds go to the Allen and Marlene Miller Endowed Scholarship. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m.
Tickets are available for purchase at Harold’s Home.
