Spring is a great time to get started on that college credential or go back to school if you have been out for a while, and there may be some scholarship assistance at LBW Community College for those who qualify and apply by Nov. 15.
“We have a non-traditional scholarship that applies to those who are 21 years of age or older, or those students who have been out of high school for one or more years and have passed all sections of the GED,” said Heather Owen, LBWCC director of student recruitment and scholarship chair.
“There is a Nov. 15 deadline to apply for the scholarships for spring and summer 2020, so if you are interested, don’t delay in getting the application to us.”
The scholarship is valued at $3,000, with half the amount applied each of the two terms, she said.
“The minimum grade point average is 2.5 for those currently enrolled or who have attended college in the past,” she said.
“To be considered, it is critical that applicants upload all required documentation, transcripts, and letters of recommendation in the online application.”
As part of the process, applicants must include the estimated family contribution (EFC) obtained from the confirmation page of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), she said.
“The federal form can be found at www.fafsa.gov. Please remember to include LBWCC’s school number of 008988 on that federal application.”
