A 9-year-old boy was fatally injured in a firearms accident today in the Friendship Community north of Opp.

The incident has been investigated and ruled an accident.

“Our sincerest condolences go out to the Clark Family,” Covington County Sheriff Blake Turman said. “Chad Clark is one of our own. We will be here for him and his family. Please keep the Clarks in your prayers.”
