The Andalusia Arrows 9U travel ball team won the Gold Championship this weekend in the 2019 GSSA Fall Uniform Series in Pace, Fla.
GAME ONE
ANDALUSIA 10, BEACH SOX 2
In the opening game of the tournament, the Andalusia Arrows picked up a 10-2 victory.
Cooper Maynor got the first batter of the game to ground out to Row Thorn at first base.
After giving up a walk, Maynor struck out the next batter for the second out.
The Beach Sox were able to push across one run, but Maynor was able to get a ground out to end the inning.
In the bottom of the first, Kaleb Covin drew a walk to start the frame.
Covin stole second and third and then scored on a wild pitch to tie the game.
Maynor reached on a dropped third strike and then came around to score on a wild pitch.
Farley Brannon drew a walk and then Thorn brought Brannon around to score with a single.
Thorn came around to score on a passed ball and then Jackson Grimes reached on a dropped third strike.
Grimes came around to score to put the Arrows up 5-1.
Zay Leslie and Halton Grimes scored to put the Arrows up 7-1 after one inning of play.
The Arrows added three more runs in the bottom of the second inning to go up 10-2.
GAME TWO
ANDALUSIA 13, SPORTZ BARN 7
Andalusia came up with a 13-7 win over Sportz Barn Coastal Barnstormer in game two.
Ian Kimbril led the way for the Arrows going 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
Houston Weant and Brock Bennett drove in two runs each.
GAME THREE
ANDALUSIA 10,
ACES 6
The Andalusia Arrows kept things rolling with a 10-6 win over the Aces in game three.
Weant had a big game for the Arrows going 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored.
Brannon was 2-for-2 with two runs scored.
Thorn went 1-for-1 with one walk, one RBI and two runs scored.
Maynor drove in one run for the Arrows.
GAME FOUR
ANDALUSIA 8, LEGENDS 2
The Andalusia Arrows capped off the tournament with an 8-2 win over the Legends in the championship game.
Brannon was on fire at the plate going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and three RBIs.
Weant had a big game going 2-for-2 with one run scored and two RBIs.
Thorn went 1-for-1 with one walk, one RBI and two runs scored.
Bennett finished the game 1-for-2 with one RBI.
