The Straughn Tigers put up a big effort and were able to knock off Houston Academy 21-14 on Friday night in Dothan.
“I was really proud our players,” Straughn head coach Joel Williams said. “I’ve been saying this all season their attitudes, work ethic and moral have never changed. They have never let themselves be down and out. We have preached to stay the course and that is what we have done. Just do what we do on and off the field.”
Straughn got a pair of touchdowns from Trey Strickland.
Demetric Toney added one score for the Tigers.
“We have prepared hard each week and tonight we got to taste victory,” Williams said. “We got to taste victory against a really good football team and a great coached football team. I’m just really proud of our guys”
Straughn will host Daleville next week.
