The Opp High School Bobcats (2-2) fell to the Geneva High School Tigers in a region match-up Friday night 56-43.
Head coach Brent Hill said the team gave up too many points.
“We were very sloppy tonight,” Hill said. “We gave up too many points on special teams and we did not play consistently on defense and you can’t do that when you play a good team like Geneva.”
One of the key problems that Hill said he noticed was that they gave up too many turnovers.
“We fumbled a kick off, we had a punt return that we fumbled, and we had a pick six all in the first half,” Hill said. “The positive is that we did keep fighting. The thing about football is that it is a team game. It doesn’t matter if you have a good game offense or defense wise, the two have to go together. So, that is the thing we are going to keep working on.”
The Bobcats host the Andalusia High School Bulldogs next Friday night.
