The Florala Wildcats look to keep things going in the right direction as they prepare for a road region game on Friday against the Brantley Bulldogs.

“Brantley is a really good football team,” Florala head coach Toby Greene said. “They are averaging over 50 points a game. They score in the I-formation pounding the ball, they score throwing the quick game out of the shotgun and they score by throwing and running out of the shotgun. They score about anyway they want too. It’s going to be tough to try and contain them as much as we can.”

This week, Greene said he wants to see his team play with passion.

“We just need to stay humble, hungry and keep moving forward,” Greene said. “Play with some emotion and passion, but play with an even keel. There are seven football games left in the season. This is a chance to go play a really good Brantley team, but you have to realize there is still football ahead of us win or lose. We just have do our best Friday night and move on to the next week.”

Greene said the team just has to keep on working for improvement.

“Keep improving and getting better,” Greene said. “Keep eliminating penalties. Stay ahead of the chains on offense because Brantley is a Brantley defense. They are quick, aggressive and they get after it. We can’t turn the ball and we have to shore up our kicking game. I know we had a big kick return last week, but we also had a botched snap on a punt that kind of hurt us too. We’ve got to play really clean and we can make a game out of it.”

Greene said he hopes the team comes in with confidence.

“Hopefully, our kids are going to play with some confidence,” Greene said. “Coming into the season the big three were Georgiana, Brantley and Elba. We just want to build off of last week and not take a step backwards. We should have a little more confidence going into this game than maybe they have in the past.”

Florala and Brantley are set for a 7 p.m., kickoff on Friday in Brantley.
