Eagles hoping to knock off Elberta in opener

The Pleasant Home Eagles open up the season on Friday as they take a trip south to take on the Elberta Warriors.

Pleasant Home is hoping for a better outcome in the 2019 season after finishing the 2018 season with a 1-9 record.

Pleasant Home knocked off McKenzie for their lone win of the year.

The Eagles scored 108 points and gave up 325 points last season.

Pleasant Home enters the year with a freshman quarterback, and return key players like Brenden Douglas and Jacob Price.

Douglas has been a key aspect on both sides of the ball.

Pleasant Home’s opponents finished the year with a 49-53 record.

Elberta enters their second season in school history.

Last year, Elberta knocked off Pleasant Home 27-18 in the school’s first ever football game.

The Warriors then won their second game in week two with a 35-13 win over Fruitdale.

Elberta lost their final five games of the season to finish with a 2-5 record.

The Warriors’ opponents finished the year a 29-45 combined record.

At this time, the Warriors are only fielding freshman, sophomores and juniors.
