Opp to honor former head coach

Opp City Schools will honor former football head coach Randy Griffin prior to Friday’s preseason game.
The Bobcats are asking all former players and coaches to come to Friday’s game.
Former players and coaches should line up on the track by the scoreboard by 6:15 p.m.
The event will be held at 6:30 p.m., at Channell-Lee Stadium.
Following the ceremony, the Bobcats will take on the Flomaton Hurricanes at 7 p.m.
Griffin was the head coach at Opp from 1974-1980.
He finished with a 53-18 overall record at Opp and a 22-10 region record.
His teams scored 1,475 points will only giving up 875.
His lifetime record was 64-27.
Griffin graduated from Opp High School in 1963 where he played football, basketball, baseball, ran track and played on the golf team.
He was All-Conference in football and basketball.
