St. Mary’s Episcopal Church will host their annual Bayou Feast next Fri., Aug. 23.
Rev. Cindy Howard of St. Mary’s said the church has had the feast for a while now.
“I have been here for eight years,” Howard said. “And they have been doing this long before I got here.”
Howard said every year when the Bayou Feast comes around she thinks of the fellowship that goes along with it.
“This feast is always a highlight of our year,” Howard said. “I think it is a highlight of the year for a lot of people in Andalusia because it is a great meal and a great evening of fellowship. I think it is a wonderful time for the community to come together.”
All of the proceeds from the feast will go to the church’s general operations fund.
The menu includes jambalaya, blackened fish, seafood gumbo, shrimp and grits, cold boiled shrimp, Mardi Gras cole slaw, New Orleans French bread, bread pudding and a beverage. Free hot dogs are available for children under 12.
Tickets are $25 each and may be purchased at CCB Community Bank, from church members, at the church office, on Venmo at @stmarysandalusia or by calling 334-222-2487. Only 350 tickets will be sold. If they aren’t all pre-sold, they will be available at the door.
