Plans are being finalized for this year’s Mizell Memorial Hospital Foundation’s 15 annual gala.
The event is set for Aug. 8, at 6:30 p.m., at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Center.
“The hospital’s own chef, Mike Mullen, will again prepare a delicious meal for everyone’s enjoyment,” Melinda Hall, foundation chairperson said. “Dinner will be followed with entertainment provided by vocal group, Veritas. Veritas is not new to our community and are always a joy to hear. I cordially invite you to join us for this event. I believe you will thoroughly enjoy the evening and I am certain you will be supporting a worthy cause.”
Hall said that times for rural hospitals have become increasingly difficult throughout the past few years and Mizell Memorial is no exception.
She applauded the city, community and supporters for helping the hospital continue to provide quality health care.
“We have an excellent facility, a world-class physical therapy building and continue to provide compassionate health care to everyone seeking treatment,” she said. “It is our intent to remain a viable and important part of our community by serving the needs of Opp and the surrounding area with quality health care and a commitment to improving customer service and patient satisfaction.”
Hall said that sponsors for the event are needed.
“There are several levels of sponsorships available and we respectfully request that you give at the highest level possible for yourself or your business,” she said.
The following levels of sponsorship are available:
- Gold sponsor: $1,000 sponsorship. Sponsors receive four gala tickets, gold leaf engraving and name listed on banner;
- Silver sponsor: $500 sponsorship. Sponsors receive two gala tickets; copper leaf engraving and name listed on banner;
- Friends of the Foundation: $250 sponsorship. Sponsors receive two gala tickets and name in program.
Those who wish for their business names to be on the banner, must send their donation by July 6.
Individual tickets are $50 each with 80 percent of that qualifying for a tax deduction.
Group seating is available.
