Southeast Alabama Works is bringing a new concept to Andalusia next week.
Ryan Richards of the organization said that they have been doing industry cluster meeting with different sectors of the workforce, and the transportation and distribution, aviation and health care clusters officials have asked to connect with education people.
“We were in a meeting and somehow the topic of speed dating came up and I thought that speed networking would be a good industry-driven opportunity to connect with educators,” he said.
Richards said the idea of speed networking is to put industry partners on one side of the table and educators on the other and give them an allotted time to connect enough that they would be able to connect again outside the speed networking.
“We’ve only done two of them so far,” Richards said. “We are just trying to get the word out to educators and industry people.”
The event is set for Mon., June 17, from 2 until 3, at the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce.
