Great to be back in giving community

Coretta Scott King once said, “the greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.”
That one of the first things that made me love this community years ago.
People in this community are compassionate and they are always willing to go the extra mile to help their neighbors in need.
There are many other reasons that I’m ecstatic to be back in Andalusia.
In the 15 years I’ve been in the newspaper business, I’ve met some of the most amazing people – many of whom are from Covington County.
I’ve laughed, cried and experienced tons of emotions with people here. I’ve watched kids grow from being in elementary school to walking across the stage receiving their high school diploma.
That’s what I love about the newspaper business. It’s about the relationships you build with the community and telling stories about the people.
While I grew up in Brantley, Andalusia has always been that place to go for anything we needed.
The community and the people who make up the community have a way of drawing you in and making you feel at home.
I’m thrilled to be back to tell your stories and help cover this community.
As Helen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
We welcome story ideas from the community, as we always have, invite you to send us photos from your events because covering our readers and what’s important to you all is what we strive to do.
