LBWCC sophomore Roger Davis will continue his college career after signing with the University of West Alabama.
“It feels really good,” Davis said of signing. “I passed the JUCO stage and now it’s time to continue to turn my dreams into a reality.”
Davis said he enjoyed his time at LBWCC.
“It was pretty good,” Davis said. “It went really fast, but I really enjoyed it. I liked playing for Coach Knight.”
Shocking people on the court is something that Davis said he enjoys about basketball.
“I like to do the unbelievable,” Davis said. “I want to make the shots that no one expects you to make.”
At LBWCC, Davis said he enjoyed the atmosphere.
“It was fun playing in front of the people that would come to the games,” Davis said. “A lot of guys on the team were freshmen this year. We didn’t win a lot of games this year, but we played hard and that’s what I like to see. I just tried to show them the things I’ve learned. They really grew as they season went along and I know they are going to win a lot of games next year.”
Davis was a standout for the Saints men’s basketball team this year.
Davis was named to the second team All-Region 22 and first team All-South Division.
“I just want to thank LBWCC for this opportunity to continue my career at a four-year school,” Davis said. “I want to thank Andalusia and Coach Knight for keeping my dream alive.”
