CAC taking orders for rodeo shirts

The Covington County Child Advocacy Center (CCCAC) is taking shirt orders for its second Cowboys for Kids Rodeo, set for July 4-6 at  Hilltop Arena.

The Child Advocacy Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides a child-friendly, safe environment where children who have been physically or sexually abused can tell their stories. The organization hosted its first rodeo on Labor Day weekend last year.

Shirts are available in sizes youth small, medium and large; and adult small through 3XL. The adult shirts are Comfort Colors brand in ice blue.

The Rodeo will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on Thurs., July 4, Friday, July 5, and Sat., July 6, at the Hilltop Arena on Hwy 29 in Andalusia. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults and $12 for kids. For kids 12 and under, a ticket includes admission to a KidsZone activity/play area. Proceeds from will benefit the Covington County Child Advocacy Center.

The Rodeo will include bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, calf roping, breakaway calf roping, team roping, barrel racing, and America’s favorite – bull riding. The event will feature cowboys and cowgirls from all over the southeast United States, including Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Florida.

Kaci Perry, executive director of the CCCAC, said the CCCAC is looking for additional support for the rodeo and for CCCAC operations.
