Florala High School Valedictorian Taylor Mount said that she has always had the drive to succeed.

“I want to make something of myself,” Mount said. “So I don’t have to rely on anyone else to do it for me.”

Mount said that she has always competed with salutatorian Morgan Kilpatrick.

“We have always been neck and neck,” Mount said.

At FHS, Mount is involved in Beta Club, Student Government, Mu Alpha Theta, basketball, softball and cheer.

She said that her mother is her role model.

“She has always been there,” Mount said. “She has always supported me.”

Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Mount plans to attend LBW Community College for her basic studies then transfer to the University of Alabama to pursue a law degree.

She is the daughter of Leslie Leonard and David Mount and the granddaughter of Sara Gardner, Michael Leonard, Shirley Cauthon and Willard Mount.
