AHS tennis splits with Providence

The Andalusia Bulldogs’ varsity tennis teams split with Providence Christian on Friday in Dothan.
BOYS
ANDALUSIA 8,
PROVIDENCE 1
Andalusia got the day going with an 8-1 win in the boys’ match.
Matthew Beasley picked up an 8-0 win the No. 1 spot.
In the No. 2 spot, Dong Goan Kim came away with a 9-7 win.
Noah Gooden earned 10-6 tiebreaker win in the No. 3 spot.
Raliegh Capps put up a strong effort, but came up short in an 8-3 loss in the No. 4 spot.
Cameron Maurer picked things back up in the No. 5 spot with an 8-6 win.
Dong Won Kim wrapped up singles play with an 8-5 win in the No. 6 spot.
GIRLS
PROVIDENCE 8,
ANDALUSIA 1
In the girls’ singles, Providence Christina came away with an 8-1 win over the Lady Bulldogs.
Alyssa Jones got things off to a good start with an 8-6 win in the No. 1 spot.
In the No. 2 spot, Annabell Bryant fell 8-1.
Michaelyn Russell went down 8-3 in the No. 3 spot.
Madeline Miller lost 8-1 in the No. 4 spot.
Mei Chen fell 8-1 in the No. 5 spot, and Paige Garvin went down 8-0 in the No. 6 spot.
