Crowe to keynote Crossover banquet

Dr. Kenneth Crowe will be the guest speaker for Crossover Ministry’s annual banquet, set for Tues., April 16, in the Opp First Baptist Church Fellowship Center.
Crowe was born and reared in Canada, where he earned his medical degree at the University of Saskatchewan. He practiced medicine in Canada for 15 years and served as a medical representative for government policies related to alcohol and drug addiction; was interviewed on national television on topics related to addiction and was guest lecturer at medical conferences on addiction medicine.
Dr. Crowe moved to Opp in 1995 and has practiced medicine here since that time. He and his wife, Terry, have two children and two grandchildren. He and Terry have attended Westview Baptist Church for 24 years, where he serves as ministry leader for Celebrate Recovery.
The Crowes have been involved in medical mission work for more than 30 years in South America and Haiti; and in West Africa for the past 14 years.
Through his personal experience in recovery from addiction, he was led into a relationship with Jesus Christ 35 years ago. He was a founding board member of Crossover Ministry, and served on the board for many years.
The mission of Crossover Ministry is to provide a Christian recovery solution for substance abuse and addiction through the use of education, work, counseling, partnering with churches and the knowledge of Jesus Christ; that will help people rebuild their lives and their communities. The facility is located on Highway 52 East, in Opp.

Seating for the banquet, which begins at 6:30 p.m. on April 16, is limited. Tickets are $20 per person.
