Covington Electric Cooperative’s Relay For Life team will host its 3rd Annual Fishing For A Cure Bass Tournament on Saturday, March 30 at Cypress Landing RV Park on Gantt Lake. The cost is $100 per team (2 person) with a five-fish limit and 12” minimum per fish.

First boat out will be at safe light and weigh-in will take place at 3 p.m. Prize money is based on 30 boat entries with $900 for 1st Place, $400 for 2nd Place and $200 for 3rd Place. If fewer than 30 boats participate, prize money will be based on a percentage of entries.

This is one of CEC’s two major fundraising events with all proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society. CEC will also host its annual Relay For Life Golf Tournament on April 23 at the Andalusia Country Club. Registration forms for either event can be picked up at the CEC main office in Sanford on Hwy 84. Registration forms can also be mailed or emailed upon request.

The CEC Relay team is also selling raffle tickets on a 65 Qt. Yeti Cooler to be given away on the day of the fishing tournament. The chances are $1 each or 12 for $10. Raffle tickets can be purchased in the lobby at CEC, from any CEC Relay For Life team member, or at the fishing tournament on March 30.
